I don\u2019t know why but this weekend, I was just feeling off. I was disconnected and feeling spiritually isolated, even though I was out and about and busy. I wasn\u2019t alone, either. I got a message from a friend who is also in ministry who was feeling alone in the fight. A call I got at the office from a listener echoed the same sentiment. \u201cI\u2019m feeling disconnected and alone.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The feeling is contagious. But it\u2019s also an old lie.<\/span><\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t help but think of the prophet Elijah. In 1 Kings 19, he was coming off the high of his life, having defeated the prophets of Baal. But in a moment, he was running, terrified, and hiding in a cave. He was positive he was the last one loyal to the Lord. So sure of his isolation, He complained to God, \u201cI am the only one left.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But God, in His grace, corrected him with a stunning reality check in verse 18: \u201cYet I reserve seven thousand in Israel\u2014all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

When Elijah thought he was alone, God had 7,000 more on his side. When you are feeling lonely on the faith walk, remember that you are not alone. You are seen, you are heard, and God is always with you. And just beyond your line of sight, He has an army standing by to remind you.<\/span><\/p>\n
