I was out of steam, falling asleep at my desk and I was ready to go home. A co-worker of mine made a comment to me about something she was expecting to happen before the work day was done and no sooner than she finished her sentence, I made a comment: \u201cAw, don\u2019t get your hopes up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I don\u2019t think she thought anything of my response but I did. Isn\u2019t this the opposite of what I am supposed to be sharing with other people, and what I believe myself? Isn\u2019t having hope &#8211; especially hope in God &#8211; at the very core of the Christian life? Here I was, encouraging my sister-in-Christ to throw out hers because I wasn\u2019t hanging on to mine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hope is defined as a confident and positive expectation of good.
