Morning Devotional:<\/u><\/p>\n

When I was a child, I always needed to know \u201cthe plan.\u201d I couldn\u2019t go to sleep without knowing my family\u2019s itinerary for the next day. I would pester my parents about it, too, asking things like, “What are we doing tomorrow? What time are we waking up? Where are we going?” If they gave me a vague answer like, \u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d or “We’ll see,” I felt like things were going to spin out of control.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To this day I\u2019m still a little anxious if I don\u2019t have a plan. I like knowing what’s coming next week, or next year, and how it’s all going to work out. I have had to learn, though, that this desperate need to know my plan is really just a lack of trust in God\u2019s plan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Proverbs 3:5-6 remind us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”. My understanding says I need the full blueprint to feel safe. God’s wisdom says I just need to hold His hand. He already knows the plan. My job isn’t to know the future; my job is to trust the One who holds it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
