By last night, she was miserable. I had lined up a series of people to stop by my house to let her out and even stay with her on a couple of occasions. By all reports, she did okay, except for one thing: she was lonely and just wanted me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I finally got home last night, I dropped my purse on the couch and declared this weekend a \u201cno work, all-puppy weekend.&#8221; I\u2019m going home to relax, nap, and toss around a few chew toys with my dog for the next couple of days &#8211; or at least until she has the reassurance that I am not leaving her forever. I am truly home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We can fill our lives with good things, but if we\u2019re not spending real, intentional time with the Lord, we can fall into a state of loneliness, as if we\u2019re just lingering in His doorway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jesus said in John 15:5: &#8220;I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.&#8221; We were created for connection with our Master.
