It’s National Middle Child Day!\u00a0 When did you feel invisible?<\/p>\n

Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

I was minding my own business Sunday afternoon when I heard it.\u00a0 A faint whistle from across the house that got increasingly louder and louder.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the life of me, I could not figure out where it was coming from. It wasn\u2019t my phone or any of my other electronic devices scattered throughout the house. When I finally discovered the source, I couldn\u2019t believe it.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was my toilet. What\u2019s worse, as soon as I discovered the toilet was the source of the squealing, it stopped only to start up again a few minutes later. The game continued for the next half hour or so until I decided to open up the tank and do some investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Isn\u2019t it annoying when tiny problems create major disturbances to your peace?<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s often like that anxiety that can hum in the background of your mind and soul that makes it hard to hear God\u2019s still small voice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, “<\/span>Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. <\/span>7 <\/b>And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.<\/span>” The solution to the spiritual “whistle” isn’t just to ignore it, but to bring the noise to God. When we do, He will replace that irritating hum of anxiety with the peace you need so you can rest in Him.<\/span><\/p>\n
