Serving Can Be Painful\u2026 But Worth It<\/b><\/p>\n

At Kinship Radio, serving you is more than a job\u2014it\u2019s our calling. This past Saturday, we had the privilege of doing that face-to-face at <\/span>A Day for Women<\/span><\/i>, and what a joy it was! Smiles, hugs, worship, laughter\u2014it was a glimpse of heaven on earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the event, I was asked to help load a wheelchair into a vehicle. No problem, I thought. It folded up nicely, and I got a grip on it\u2014but not a good one. As I lifted it, the chair pinched the skin right between my thumb and forefinger. And I mean <\/span>really<\/span><\/i> pinched. It cut deep and started bleeding pretty good. But I didn\u2019t want the women I was helping to notice. I clenched my fist, smiled through the pain, and made sure they knew how glad we were that they had come\u2014and that it was a joy to help.<\/span><\/p>\n

That little moment stayed with me, not because of the pain, but because of the picture it painted: <\/span>serving others sometimes hurts<\/span><\/i>. And yet, that\u2019s the kind of love we\u2019re called to show.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEven the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.\u201d \u2014 Matthew 20:28 (ESV)<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus showed us that true service often comes with a cost. It\u2019s not always convenient or comfortable. Sometimes it stings. But every time we love sacrificially, even in the smallest ways, we\u2019re becoming more like Him\u2014and pointing others to His heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, if you’re feeling worn out from giving, or maybe even a little bruised, take heart. You’re in good company\u2014and your service matters.<\/span><\/p>\n
