I\u2019m looking forward to more time on the patio, taking in God\u2019s creation and maybe &#8211; just maybe &#8211; seeing some flowers growing around it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m not happy about what\u2019s growing around it right now. For some reason, I seem to be growing a very healthy crop of weeds. Thistles, to be specific.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have tried several times over to get rid of the thistles that grow around my house. They just keep coming back, over and over again. It\u2019s frustrating, because what I want is a nice, beautiful, clean flower garden. The weeds make that really hard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s another place where weeds get the best of me and that is in the soil of my heart.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the parable of the sower, Jesus tells of a farmer who sows seed. The seed fell in four places &#8211; good soil where the seeds thrived, a hard path where the birds came and ate it up, a rocky place with little soil that allowed plants to wither because of shallow roots, and among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spiritual weeds such as the worries of life, negative thoughts, and more can choke out the seeds of faith and prohibit the growth of spiritual fruit we are trying to produce. Don\u2019t let those weeds take root.
