Easter was yesterday… what are you still savoring today?<\/p>\n

I had a wonderful time celebrating Easter with my family in Wisconsin this past weekend. It had been close to two years since my mom\u2019s side of the family were all together in the same room, and we enjoyed a Saturday afternoon catching up on family matters over a huge meal, complete with Jello fluff salad. It was awesome.<\/span><\/p>\n

When my parents and I got back home that evening, we fell into our typical routine – an ongoing discussion of \u201cWhat should we watch on TV\u2019 while taking turns falling asleep in front of it. We had gone from the highlight family event of the year to the utter mundane.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Easter morning, I couldn\u2019t help but notice a commonality between the previous day and the disciples\u2019 experience after the resurrection. In chapter 21 of his gospel, John notes that seven of the disciples had gathered together at the Sea of Galilee, and Peter endured a fruitless fishing expedition. <\/span>It\u2019s as if the \u201cparty\u201d is over, and the disciples have returned to their old routines and their previous lives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But what does Jesus do? He appears on the shore. He doesn’t scold them for going back to fishing, but instead He gently guides them to a miraculous catch. He makes breakfast, restores Peter, and sets the disciples back on course to get His message out to the world.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus showed up the morning after the party to remind them not to forget the reason for celebration. You may be asking what\u2019s next in your life right now. Consider this: God may be encouraging you to live out the reality of Easter in every aspect of your life, guided and empowered by the risen Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n
