I was back in the classroom yesterday, but it wasn\u2019t to pursue a college degree.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I went to kindergarten. Puppy kindergarten.<\/span><\/p>\n

I registered my new puppy, Abbie, for her first obedience class and last night was our very first session. Having grown up with dogs and owning one before Abbie myself, I thought I knew what I was doing when it comes to training a dog. I found out I know very little about raising and training a puppy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Puppies are needy and have short attention spans. They also scare easily when introduced to unfamiliar environments and new situations. They also whine and complain when they don\u2019t get their way, at least until they understand that their master has their best interests at heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

To be honest, I have felt very much the same way at times when it comes to my faith.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have seasons when I feel I am doing all of the right things and following every command God has given me. There are other times when my faith walk is an absolute mess. I become needy, fearful and disobedient, until I learn that my Master cares for me and is working everything in my life for good.<\/span><\/p>\n

After class last night, I was reminded of a very important directive in the scriptures.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When the Lord told the believers at Ephesus they had left their first love in Revelation chapter two, He revealed the root of success or failure in the Christian life. He told the Ephesian church, \u201cYou are leaving your first love, and neglecting the basics of your faith.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the cure for this condition?<\/span> Revelation 2:5 introduces us to a <\/span>course called Jesus Christ 101: <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know if Abbie learned anything significant in puppy kindergarten but I learned a lot. I have learned over and over again that the fix for all of my faith troubles is turning to Jesus Christ and remembering everything He did for me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
