It’s National Reconciliation Day!\u00a0 Have you ever reconnected with someone after years of being apart?\u00a0 What happened?<\/p>\n

Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

I was running late and I didn\u2019t want to miss my appointment. I was pretty sure I had the last appointment of the day and if I didn\u2019t get there on time, the office would close. I got to the office, rushed through the door and met the receptionist at the desk. I told her my name and why I was there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was met with a blank stare, followed by a puzzled look. She checked her computer, checked a set of papers, and then proceeded to tell me the news.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYour appointment is actually tomorrow. You\u2019re not supposed to be here.\u201d She was right, too. I had arrived on the wrong day. I wasn\u2019t thrilled by the news, and my embarrassment showed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Have you ever been in a place where you weren\u2019t supposed to be? Or worse yet, have you ever been accused of being in the wrong place, even though you know you\u2019re exactly where the Lord wants you?<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus made a point to gather with tax collectors and sinners and when He did, he was met by\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pharisees and teachers of the law accusing <\/span>Him of being where He wasn\u2019t supposed to be. \u201cThis man welcomes sinners and eats with them,\u201d they muttered. Jesus countered with a hope-filled response.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.\u201d\u00a0 (Mark 2:17)<\/span><\/p>\n

People were more important than social norms to Jesus. He went out of his way to bring the lost and the hurting into relationship with Him. Let\u2019s do the same and go out of our way to be with those who need more of Him.<\/span><\/p>\n
