It’s National Day of Unplugging!\u00a0 What is the biggest challenge of unplugging for a day?<\/p>\n

Just beyond my backyard is a very small green space with a flower bed, a flagpole with an American flag flying from it and a grouping of trees. The little park-like feature was one of the big selling points when I selected this home to purchase a few years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are two types of trees in this garden area – red maples and spruce trees. Two trees with very different looks to them this time of year. The maples are bare and seemingly lifeless, while the spruce trees are green and full of life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yesterday I couldn\u2019t help but relate the scene to the promise we have in Jesus Christ. As I studied the dead-looking maples, I saw hope for a new season to come. Those bare brown trees will be filled with leaves this spring, making them lush and green like their evergreen counterparts. Just as both trees were steady and strong in the wind, my faith in God is also strengthened.<\/span><\/p>\n

This time of year, as we draw closer to the celebration of Easter, I am reminded of how Jesus was looked upon in His day. It wasn\u2019t favorable, and yet Christ pressed on in his calling to God, making the season much brighter for others to see.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus Christ was nailed to a tree, a cross of wood. His resurrection brought hope to His disciples, and He brings hope to those who believe and know Him. Galatians 2:20 says, \u201cI have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.\u201d He is the Tree of Life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
