I had plans to go out of town this past weekend but when those plans changed, I took the opportunity to get a few things done around the house. Over the course of checking off long overdue items on my to-do list, the thought occurred to me that I hadn\u2019t filled my water softener with salt for quite some time. I hadn\u2019t needed to, either, and the little voice inside my head was telling me my observation was worth further investigation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for me to discover that a salt bridge had developed in the tank of my water softener. If you don\u2019t know what that is, a salt bridge is when a solid block of salt forms in your tank, preventing the salt and water in the tank from mixing together. The fix is to break up that solid block of salt.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

No problem, I thought as I took a wooden pole and started to tap, tap, tap on the salt bridge. That technique didn\u2019t make a dent. My tactics got increasingly more aggressive throughout the afternoon, to the point where power tools finally came into play. It was only after I drilled several holes into the block and followed with warm water, a crowbar and a hammer that I finally saw that salt block break in half. I felt like I had won a war.<\/span><\/p>\n

When was the last time you prayed for a breakthrough? As believers, it should come as no surprise that we are waging war against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies and those forces are strong. We have everything we need to fight those battles, too. We have a full suit of armor to put on that Paul tells us about in Ephesians chapter six, and we have a Savior who is not only greater than anyone or anything that is in this world, but He has overcome it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In war, there are many battles. Some are won quickly, and others require some endurance. No matter what happens, keep fighting and don\u2019t give up. Your breakthrough is coming.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
