It’s National Random Acts of Kindness Day!\u00a0 When did you do a random act of kindness?<\/p>\n

Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

Years ago, I had a friend who moved to another city. I paid him a visit shortly afterward and we decided to go to a restaurant for dinner. I had to take my own car, but I had no idea where this restaurant was located so naturally, we agreed that I would follow him in his car as he drove to the location.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This should have been an easy arrangement, right? Well, not exactly. My friend enjoys playing pranks on people, and as we made our way through the city, he would signal each turn he was about to make and proceed in the opposite direction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He almost got me lost except for one small thing. I had programmed the GPS on my smartphone with the restaurant\u2019s address. When I was about to be misled, my GPS gave me the correct directions I needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

When the apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, the believers there were dividing themselves into different factions, each with a different leader. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1:12, \u201cOne of you says, \u2018I follow Paul\u2019; another, \u2018I follow Apollos\u2019; another, \u2018I follow Cephas\u2019; still another, \u2018I follow Christ.\u2019\u201d Paul then turns their attention to the One who could bring them together in unity. They had been baptized in the name of Jesus, and if each one of them would keep their eyes fixed on Jesus and commit to follow Him, there would be unity.<\/span><\/p>\n

We run the danger of placing another person, or even ourselves, in the place where Jesus Christ is supposed to reside. Let\u2019s make sure we are committed to following Him as Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n
