I have a history of asthma so every year I see my doctor and take a pulmonary function test. It\u2019s a procedure where you breathe through a tube and when prompted, you exhale as hard as you can until you have expelled all the air in your lungs. The test measures how much air you can breathe out and how quickly you can do it.<\/span><\/p>\n

I had my test yesterday, and the technician who worked with me gave me a rather colorful pep talk beforehand. He said, \u201cBeth, you\u2019ve done this test before so you know the drill. You give me everything you\u2019ve got and when you think you have nothing left, you give me some more.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I thought yikes, this guy is serious so I put on my game face and went for it. I passed with flying colors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s something to be said about giving everything you have to a certain task. There\u2019s even more to be said of giving yourself over completely to God\u2019s will.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul wrote this of Jesus in Philippians chapter two: \u201c<\/span>He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.<\/span> And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death\u2014even death on a cross!\u201d (Philippians 2:6-7)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus left the splendor of heaven, exchanging the comfort of His Father’s throne for the humble form of a human baby. He endured the hardships of human life, facing temptations and suffering. Ultimately, He gave the ultimate sacrifice, shedding His own blood on the cross to atone for our sins. Jesus didn’t hold back a thing. He gave His all for you and me.<\/span><\/p>\n
