There is a Christmas tradition I love that I really should incorporate all year round. I should put more lights on timers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I love coming home from work during the holidays to a house that is completely lit up with twinkling lights. Walking into my home with the lights on, the Christmas tree already lit up, not only provides the perfect ambience, but it also gives me a sense of peace as I wind down from a busy day and take time to be in the Lord’s presence.<\/span><\/p>\n

We all know what it’s like to walk into a dark house. We like to think we know where everything is, but anything can happen to make us bump into something or stub our toe. I would be the first person to walk into a wall. When we have light, there are no surprises – we know the way we are to go.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus came into the world as our Light\u2014 our peace, guide and our hope in the dark around us. In John 8:12 He says, <\/span>\u201cI am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0 He comes into our lives just in time to be that light and draw us into a relationship with Him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This Christmas, let every twinkling light remind us of Jesus\u2014the Light of the World\u2014who entered our darkness to guide us here on earth, but more importantly to welcome us home to the Father.<\/span><\/p>\n
