Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

My adult daughter Kalvary is doing well. She has an apartment with her sister, is attending Minnesota State University, and fairly recently got a part-time job cooking at an assisted living facility. But here\u2019s the odd thing\u2014her boss, the director of the facility, is a friend of mine and attends our church.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll admit, it feels a little weird. I\u2019ve found that I have to be careful how I interact with both of them when it comes to their work relationship. Kalvary likes her job, but like all of us, she might occasionally have frustrations. One thing she doesn\u2019t want is for me to intervene or talk to her boss about those frustrations. I respect that boundary and am grateful her boss is someone who follows Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n

This situation has reminded me of the importance of trust. As a parent, I want to step in and make everything smooth for my children, but sometimes stepping back allows God to work in ways I cannot. It\u2019s a reminder that while I can love and support my children, God is ultimately their guide and provider.<\/span><\/p>\n

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, \u201cTrust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m learning to trust God with my daughter\u2019s journey, knowing He is present in her workplace, her school, and her relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n
