The Burning Question:<\/span><\/p>\n

When did you speak and realized you sounded just like your mom or dad?<\/p>\n

Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

It was a sound I hadn\u2019t heard for some time. The rumble of thunder outside not only took me by surprise, but came with enough intensity to rattle my window panes and cause the floor to momentarily shake. The rain that followed didn\u2019t seem to amount to much, but for a minute or so, it felt like we were in for quite a storm.<\/span><\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t worried about this round of rain, though, because I was prepared for it. The storm system had been predicted for a couple of days so I knew it was on my way. I had even postponed my evening plans in anticipation of its coming. When the \u201cstorm\u201d struck, there was no harm done from my perspective, and when I turned in for the night I found myself grateful for God\u2019s gift of a peaceful end to my day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our days don\u2019t always end like that. Life\u2019s storms aren\u2019t always predictable and they can come upon us without warning. They can even be destructive. Does that mean God\u2019s peace isn\u2019t present? Absolutely not! If anything, I think He gives us the grace to sense it all the more because He gives us the opportunity to experience it in the middle of the mess.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Psalm 46:1 says \u201c<\/span>\u201cGod is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.\u201d\u00a0 I don\u2019t know about you but I am glad He is there for me, no matter what.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
