It was large piles of this white stuff, looking very much out of place considering it was next to a major intersection in the middle of farm country. After some quick thinking, and after a rather distinctive government vehicle drove past, I realized what the mystery substance was. It was road salt. Apparently, the DOT was in the process of moving their supply of road salt where they needed it for use during the winter months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was by no means a small amount of salt, either. If I were to guess, the salt would have filled my garage at least three or four times over. Hopefully, it will do the trick on the roads this winter and nothing else, as road salt can also be harmful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Matthew 5:13, Jesus tells us that we are to be<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the salt of the earth. As His followers, we are to have an influence on those around us and draw people to the Father. How do we do that? Are we sprinkling our community with acts of kindness? Are we going out of our way to show love to people? If we\u2019re going to change our surroundings for Christ, we have to be willing to shake things up a bit.
