The mechanism inside it wasn\u2019t working so I went out and bought the parts and last night, I tore the clock apart. That was the fun part. Putting it back together was another story. The minute and second hand didn\u2019t exactly fit on the new shaft and when I had it reassembled, it didn\u2019t exactly keep time again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everything worked fine until about twenty minutes after the hour. The clock hands would stop at that point until I gave them about a five-minute nudge forward. All was well for about another hour, until twenty minutes after the next hour. The clock would stop again until my next nudge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It would be pretty cool if we really had that kind of control over time. We obviously don\u2019t &#8211; only God himself can do that. But we do know time keeps ticking on, and the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 7 offers us a couple of reminders about the time. In verse 29 he tells us that \u201cthe time is short\u201d and in verse 31, He says that \u201cthe world in its present form is passing away.\u201d What does that mean for us? Time is given to us by God to use wisely.
