It\u2019s happening again. My brown thumb came back and this time, it\u2019s not taking any prisoners.<\/span><\/p>\n

This past spring I decided to try my hand at planting flowers in my flower beds again. Thankfully, they are looking pretty good. The rain we had throughout the summer has helped a lot, especially since my lack of a watering schedule didn\u2019t help the effort much. My choice of flower varieties also contributed to my success as I strategically planted drought resistant flower varieties outside.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What isn\u2019t working is the one indoor plant I own. It is looking bad. Really bad.<\/span><\/p>\n

I thought it was supposed to be a succulent of some kind – a variety that didn\u2019t take much water in order to survive. Apparently, they need something, as I woke up Saturday morning to find every leaf-like branch thing flopped over, laying on the soil looking downcast and depressed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The poor plant was a mirror image of my mood that morning – downcast and depressed. Nothing was going to make me feel better, I thought, and this plant was visual proof. I started to feel bad for the poor thing and I gave it some water, thinking it just might have a shot of coming back. Later in the day, a few leaves came back to life. There\u2019s hope, I thought to myself, and if there is for a plant, there certainly is for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Psalm 42, the sons of Korah ask this: \u201cWhy, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.\u201d Sometimes we need some fresh water of the living God to revive us. I\u2019m really glad He provides us with an abundant supply.<\/span><\/p>\n
