It’s National Newspaper Day!\u00a0 What was your first job and what did you learn from it?<\/p>\n

I was taken aback when I saw it and I certainly wasn\u2019t ready for it. The leaves on a tree on my way to work were starting to turn color.\u00a0 We\u2019re barely into September and the first touches of fall are already making their way into the landscape!<\/span><\/p>\n

Fall is my favorite season of the year. I adore the colors of the trees as the leaves turn from their summer greens to their bright fall yellows, oranges and reds. I love the cooler temperatures, the start of football season, pumpkin spiced everything – to me, fall is like a burst of God\u2019s creative juices all out on display. If there\u2019s a change of a season to love, for me it\u2019s this one.<\/span><\/p>\n

Change is easy for some people. If you are an adventurous person, you welcome a new season in life as a new puzzle to solve or a new challenge to conquer. If you are a more cautious or calculating person like I am, change can be a little more difficult. You like to know where you\u2019re going, or at least know the plan or the timetable. Those are things the Lord doesn\u2019t necessarily lay out for us like we want. He\u2019ll give us a yellowing tree as a starting point, but it\u2019s up to us to walk out the changing season step by step.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s why I take heart in the promise we have in Hebrews 13:8. It’s the promise that reminds us <\/span>God does not change. He is always the same. His character is always dependable. His truth, ways, and purposes never waver. His Son Jesus does not change. He\u2019s the same yesterday, today, and forever, through every season. You might not be ready for what is coming next but He is, and He will walk you through every turn your next season takes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
