I am afraid of a lot of things.\u00a0 Spiders, snakes, heights, scary movies, I don\u2019t like them. If I had to save you from a vicious mouse or something, you\u2019d probably suffer. In my walk with the Lord, my lack of courage is consistently challenged by the words of the Lord that say things like, \u201cDo not be afraid,\u201d \u201cFear not,\u201d and \u201cBe strong and courageous.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0A favorite quote of mine says, \u201cCourage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I have come to understand, slowly, that a courageous person is not one who is without fear. A courageous person is someone who can control their fear and then do the right thing \u2013 putting their trust wholeheartedly in God and going where He wants them to go.<\/p>\n<p>The very first time the Lord spoke to me He gave me a verse that to this day, combats my fearful nature. It is my life verse and it is Isaiah 41:10: \u201cSo do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
