I\u2019m not entirely sure how we got on the subject but for a period of time yesterday afternoon, the topic of conversation here at the office focused on garden hoses and snakes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Something happened to me when I bought new garden hoses a few years back. I had purchased a certain brand that I happen to love and one summer day I was doing yard work that required watering part of my lawn. I had stretched out the hoses, started running the water from the spigot on the house, and when I reached down to move the hose to a slightly different location, I narrowly missed picking up a garter snake instead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What caused my confusion? Something I determined to be a serious design flaw with the garden hose. The hose is black in color with two very narrow yellow stripes on it, which is the same color scheme as the common garter snake. All I wanted to do was move the water! I didn\u2019t want to get bit. Right there I told myself never to mistake the two again.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are a lot of things that appear to be genuine and even godly in this life but are actually not the case. Jesus warns us about false prophets in Matthew chapter seven, those that come like wolves in sheep\u2019s clothing. He tells us, too, that the test of authenticity is the fruit they produce. So be careful and know exactly what it is you are reaching for and placing your trust in. One will provide you with living water that won\u2019t run dry. The other one is just out to harm you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
