What is a life skill you’ve had to learn as an adult that you wished you were taught earlier in life?<\/p>\n

Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

With my dog advancing in age, she sleeps most of her days away. Combine that with the fact that she is both blind and deaf and you would think it might be difficult for her to detect when someone is in the room, much less in my home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her sense of smell works just fine, which means I have created a daily contest for myself. How long can I keep my dog from thinking I\u2019m not home yet?<\/span><\/p>\n

When I get home from work, my dog demands my immediate attention. She must be able to feel some vibration from the garage door because she is awake and antsy and ready to get out of her enclosure as soon as I walk in. She is begging for a meal before my purse is on the kitchen counter. She doesn\u2019t look at me with those \u201chappy to see you\u201d eyes, either. It\u2019s this vulture stare, \u201cWhere have you been\u201d look that says she\u2019s happy to see me but wonders why I\u2019m not tending to her needs fast enough. At least it\u2019s a welcome homecoming.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a very different arrival coming on the calendar, a homecoming we do not want to miss, and someone is waiting at the doorway there for us to walk through it. There will be no demands of us once we get there, only what the apostle Peter calls \u201ca rich welcome into the eternal kingdom.\u201d It\u2019s the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We don\u2019t know when that day is coming, or how long we can go without being sure we\u2019ll get there. The only guarantee we have is to receive Jesus as Lord. Welcome Him into your heart and life today.<\/span><\/p>\n
