I didn\u2019t think it was that serious\u2026 but it was more complicated than I wanted it to be.<\/span><\/p>\n

So I was on vacation last week, and as part of my time away I had booked a much needed surgical procedure on my hand. I\u2019ve had this procedure done before and I was expecting it to be a quick, easy and relatively unobtrusive speed bump in a week off filled with glorious plans of spring cleaning, home repairs and organization. Well, none of that happened. The surgery was more involved than predicted and I spent the week with a painful, useless left hand and a long list of to-dos that remain undone. You can only do so much with one good hand.<\/span><\/p>\n

At first I was completely frustrated by the setback. However, by the end of the week I started to see the silver lining. The bandage on my hand was God\u2019s way of slowing me down, forcing me to rest, making me take the time I desperately needed to recharge my batteries. I didn\u2019t know how seriously low my power level was until God did for me what He promises each of us in Psalm 23. He made me lie down in green pastures I didn\u2019t know were waiting for me. He led me beside some very quiet waters and yes, He restored my soul.<\/span><\/p>\n

My left hand is healing quite nicely. My right hand goes under the knife next.\u00a0 Will I remember God\u2019s lesson to take it slow next time? I\u2019ll let you know.<\/span><\/p>\n
