I am normally not a basketball fan but I admittedly got caught up in the excitement of the NCAA women\u2019s basketball season this year. With all of the achievements of this year\u2019s players, it was honestly hard to stay away. I\u2019ve never been active in sports but I do appreciate the hard work that athletes put into their game – not only physically, but mentally.<\/span><\/p>\n

Athletes in particular understand the connection between their thought life and their performance. They use visualization to help strengthen and cement key skills such as a free throw, a golf swing, a certain pitch, or whatever technique requires improvement. A dedicated athlete understands that thoughts and actions are interconnected, and a positive thought will bring forth a desired action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This concept is really not surprising to me at all. In fact, I find it quite scriptural. Why do you think the Lord tells us in Proverbs chapter two to seek out His wisdom? He wants us to fill our thoughts with His truth so that we can call on it when we need it. It\u2019s only by knowing His Word\u00a0 and taking our thoughts captive to His word where the victory is truly won.<\/span><\/p>\n
