It is National Go for Broke Day.\u00a0 When did you \u201cjust go for it?\u201d \u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

Have you ever been 100 percent successful in taking charge of your life? It has never happened to me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I think all of us struggle with letting God have complete control over our lives. The self-sufficient \u201cI can take care of it myself\u201d streak in me rears its ugly head a lot. I enjoy devising a plan and sticking to it, but God always has something better than my own plan and His ways of getting me to navigate His plan aren\u2019t always the most comfortable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was feeling that way when I went to the Word the other night and stumbled on a verse I hadn\u2019t seen before. Jeremiah 10:23 says, \u201cLord<\/span>, I know that people\u2019s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.\u201d That verse points to two important truths we have to accept. One, our lives don\u2019t belong to us; and two, we are not the ones who are ultimately in control of our lives. If the Lord is truly our Lord, we should be surrendering our will and our plans to His. Giving up control to Him isn\u2019t easy but trust me – it\u2019s always worth it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
