Years ago, my pastor at the time restored an old table by turning the top into a mosaic out of broken ceramic tiles. Using various sizes and colors of less-than-perfectly shaped tile pieces, he transformed that table from a piece of junk into a beautiful art piece. I loved the final product and you could tell that it was, from him, a labor of love.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My pastor had tapped into a little known skill of his, demonstrating he could create something new from that which was broken – which sounds a whole lot like what the Lord did with us. However, He was the one that was broken.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The celebration of the Lord\u2019s supper reminds us of the brokenness Jesus suffered on the cross, and how He has made us whole again by what He accomplished there. In Luke 22, Jesus \u201ctook bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying \u2018This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.\u2019 In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, \u201cThis cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for You.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesus Christ allowed Himself to be broken for you out of His great love for you. Receive Him as your Savior today.<\/p>\n
