It’s World Storytelling Day!\u00a0 What is the best story you’ve told recently?<\/p>\n

How\u2019s your prayer life doing?\u00a0 It\u2019s a question I asked myself just yesterday afternoon when I heard a pretty astounding statistic. Did you know the average person spends only eight minutes a week in prayer?\u00a0 Eight minutes per week!\u00a0 I was stunned but after thinking about it, I wasn\u2019t surprised. I think we fall so very short in this category and it is one I would love to improve in.<\/span><\/p>\n

Think of what things would be like if we as a people spent more time praying than we did grumbling. It would be a better place, don\u2019t you think? Having a life of prayer is important to a Christian, too – dare I say vital – and it is one Jesus Himself modeled. He would often withdraw to a quiet place to pray to the Father. He would be up all night praying. In the Garden of Gethsemane, under so much stress that blood appeared like sweat on his skin, what was Jesus doing?\u00a0 He was praying. If the Son of God found it necessary to pray, shouldn\u2019t we as well?<\/span><\/p>\n

In the book of 1 Thessalonians chapter five we are told to \u201crejoice always and pray without ceasing.\u201d Things happen when God\u2019s people pray, so let’s do more of it.<\/span><\/p>\n
