A few months ago, a new couple moved into my neighborhood. They live a few doors down from me and around the time I get home from work they are usually outside walking their dog, Charlie. When I first met the wife, she and I had a nice chat in my front yard. When it was time for her and Charlie to head back to their house, something happened that I did not expect.<\/span><\/p>\n

Charlie has a unique skill. My new neighbor took Charlie\u2019s leash, held it out for him to take in his mouth, and told him to go home. Which he did. He started sauntering down the street, passing driveway after driveway until he reached his own. He turned and walked up to his doorstep where the front door mysteriously opened for him, thanks to one of those camera doorbells and the husband waiting for him, and Charlie walked inside. He was home, safe and sound, to my surprise and delight. I look forward to seeing Charlie in the neighborhood, instinctively making his way home from wherever he and his masters may have roamed.<\/span><\/p>\n

You would think it would be easy for us to navigate our way to our eternal destination, right? We spend so much time thinking we know the way to heaven, the best course to take to earn salvation and eternal life, only to complicate matters far more than we need to. Here\u2019s all we truly need to know: Jesus said in John 14:6, \u201cI am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.\u201d If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you definitely know the way home.<\/span><\/p>\n
