The Burning Question:<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s Spread Goodness Day!\u00a0 When did you see someone spread some serious goodness?<\/p>\n

Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m often troubled by my past mistakes. I know I\u2019m not alone in that, either. As a friend reminded me this week, we have all missed the mark at one point in time or another but we have been given grace to move beyond our foul-ups and focus on what lies ahead. We have all been gifted what she likes to call the holy do-over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If there were ever someone who received a holy do-over, it was the apostle Paul. Paul was an overzealous Pharisee who wanted to see the Christian faith crushed and he did whatever he could to try and make that happen. Paul ended up trusting in Jesus Christ and became not only a powerful witness for Him, but he also authored thirteen books of the Bible and helped to shape the early church. He did all this while carrying the memories of persecuting innocent Christians before his own conversion.<\/span><\/p>\n

When God forgives sin, He forgets, but can we forget our own past mistakes? Maybe, maybe not. But we can move on from them, and perhaps we should. Paul wrote in Philippians 3:13-14, \u201c<\/span>Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
