Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

A man who recently spoke at our church shared a story that I won\u2019t soon forget. He was working at an evangelistic meeting when the preacher for that night was approached by a man who wanted him to answer a question. The man asked him, \u201cYou claim to be a man who hears from God, and you seem to know what He has to say to people. I want you to ask God right now what He remembers about me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The preacher fell silent, paced for a little while, deep in thought and prayer.\u00a0 After several moments, he turned back to the man and replied, \u201cI\u2019m sorry, but I don\u2019t quite know what to tell you. All I am getting is that He remembers nothing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At that moment, the man crumbled to the ground and started sobbing. He then explained, \u201cI just got out of prison after 27 years. I went to a Bible study and became a Christian while I was inside, but I didn\u2019t really believe I could be forgiven until just now. If God could forgive me and forget everything I have ever done, He\u2019s a God who can do anything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The gift of forgiveness is amazing, because it is a gift of forgetfulness. God takes our sins and removes them \u201cas far as the east is from the west,\u201d never to return to His memory.<\/span><\/p>\n
