I was watching one of those fashion design shows the other day where a young woman was in a store trying to select a wedding gown. One of the things she was trying to work out as she was making her decision was whether or not to reveal a surgical scar on her upper chest or find a dress that would cover the scar.<\/span><\/p>\n

In my opinion, the scar was hardly noticeable but for this young woman on the show, it was a reminder of a difficult and painful medical journey. Her fashion consultant offered a word of wisdom, one that I loved. The scar was a reminder of battles fought and won, and that it defined her as a survivor. By the end of the show, the young woman chose a beautiful bridal gown with a neckline that showed off both her natural beauty and her scar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scars do have a way of reminding us of our past. My own scars document times I have fallen down, mistakes I have made, even a fight I lost. The scars on Jesus\u2019 hands remind us of our past and our future. He paid the price of our sins when He was nailed to the cross, and when we trust in Him as our Lord and Savior, our future with Him in eternity is secure. His scars are there to prove it.<\/span><\/p>\n
