Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

My dog Zoey is getting up there in years and as she has aged, it has become more and more difficult for her to get comfortable in the various dog beds I have prepared for her around my house. This became very evident to me last night as I was doing dishes.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the kitchen sink I could hear her groan from the living room, followed by a series of jingles coming from the tags on her collar. I didn\u2019t think much of the noise, assuming she was just changing positions in her dog bed. Shortly after that, I heard another series of groans, followed by more jingling, and then another set of groans louder than before.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My curiosity piqued, I decided to abandon my dishwashing duty to observe what was happening with my little canine companion. As she continued to spin inside her bed and claw her way to a comfortable position, Zoey\u2019s groans turned to growling, followed by barking and a short and very odd howl I had never heard her do before. The display all came to a stop when she fell out of the bed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now there was no way I was going to let my furbaby be without a comfortable place to rest. So what did I do?\u00a0 I fluffed up her bed, grabbed the softest fleece dog blanket I own, picked up my Zoey and helped her into the bed, using the blanket as a bumper to help position her in it. She was snoring within minutes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Life can be really uncomfortable at times and finding that place and time to rest can seem impossible. However, we have a promise in the Word that tells us otherwise. Jesus says in Matthew chapter 11, \u201c\u201cCome to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
