Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

Yesterday I was dealing with a scratchy throat so I spent most of the morning carrying my favorite throat spray in my pocket. It comes in a small squirt bottle about the size of a lip balm and the spray is mint flavored. Sometime mid-morning, I put my hand in my pocket only to discover the bottle was leaking and before I knew it, my pocket and my left hand were both wet and noticeably smelling minty fresh.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now I could get the smell of the spray off of my hands very easily. Getting the scent out of my clothes was a different story, and for several hours yesterday all I could smell around me was mint. Mind you, I\u2019m not complaining – mint is one of my favorite scents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When you think about it, the sense of smell is very powerful. A scent can often bring up an emotion or a memory faster than a sound or an image can. I think that\u2019s why the apostle Paul used this concept in 2 Corinthians 2:15 when he wrote, \u201c<\/span>we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.\u201d The fragrance we give off as believers says a lot about who we are and more importantly, who we follow. I pray we smell amazing – like the scent of the Kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n
