Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

I am not the best cook in the world. I never have been and I am afraid cooking will never be one of my strong suits. I do try, though, and occasionally I enjoy some success in the kitchen. Last night was not one of those nights.<\/span><\/p>\n

I had something to put in the oven – specifically, the broiler – and right before I put the pan on the rack I noticed a certain smell. I didn’t think too much about it until after a couple of minutes Before I knew it, my smoke alarm was going off to alert me that something was getting way too hot in the oven, something that shouldn\u2019t have been there in the first place. No harm done, thankfully, except for a lot of noise, the smell of something that had melted in my oven and a not-so-perfectly cooked dinner on my table.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this life, we need to pay attention to the warnings and alarms that present themselves to us. They are there to alert us of impending danger, or oncoming threats to our faith and trust in God. Peter even tells us to be alert and sober minded, because we have an enemy waiting to attack. Let\u2019s be on the lookout, knowing that we have a Savior watching over us as well.<\/span><\/p>\n
