Take for instance a story I read recently about the Red Ball Express, the codename for one of World War II’s most massive logistics operations.

A fleet of over 6,000 trucks was tasked with delivering ammunition, fuel and supplies to the Allied forces in the European theater right after the invasion of Normandy in 1944. Established to keep supplies quickly and readily available to troops on the frontlines, the Red Ball Express became a lifeline and a significant factor in the Allied victory in Europe in 1945. Why was this particular operation so important? If you’re familiar with the phrase, “An army marches on its stomach,” you’ll understand. When a soldier is well-nourished and all of their needs are met, it is easier for them to continue to fight.

The same can be said for our spiritual lives, especially when it comes to God’s grace. We need God’s grace in our lives every day. I know I am completely dependent upon it and when I don’t believe I have enough of God’s grace, I cease to function. But we have this promise from the Lord in James 4:6: “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’” The supply line of God’s grace toward us is unbreakable and because of that, we can live daily in victory.

– Beth

Burning Question:

How did someone go out of their way to get to know you better, or what did you do to get to know someone in a better way?

Bible Quiz:

Question: Which person in the Bible said, “But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance?”

Answer: Joseph (Genesis 45:4-7)

Storytime:

Just one More Thing

Morning Devotional: I’ve never been a huge history buff but I do enjoy learning about various historical periods, especially the events surrounding the World Wars.
