Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

When my brother and I were young and got together with our friends, one of the games we loved to play was hide and seek. Our friend group of about ten kids had six or seven huge backyards grouped between us to play in, and we used every space we could for epic games of hide and seek. I was \u201cit\u201d a lot, but when I got to hide, I hid really well.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This one time however, I got pretty concerned because so much time was going by and I wasn\u2019t getting found. Nobody was near me, and for this split second I thought I was lost forever. I couldn\u2019t take it anymore so I changed my hiding space so I could be found easier. I was quickly found, and the funny thing was I felt better about losing the game because of it. I was no longer in hiding.<\/span><\/p>\n

Have you ever stopped to consider that you and I, and all of mankind, have played this huge game of hide and seek ourselves? We have been hiding from God since the very beginning. In Genesis chapter 3, after the fall, God was walking in the Garden of Eden when He said, \u201cAdam, where are you?\u201d Adam was hiding because he knew he had failed God. He had sinned. We do the same thing. But this moment, like every moment after it, proves a point about the character of God. Even though we sin, God does not abandon us. He seeks us out, and proves that He is always willing to welcome us back home.<\/span><\/p>\n

You may feel like you have to hide from God today because of your sinfulness but if you do, don\u2019t. You can come out of hiding because of what His Son did for you at the cross. He will forgive you – just be willing to come to Him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
