Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

I had an opportunity to spend some time together with friends for a picnic on Saturday afternoon and some of us were able to take a pontoon ride out on a lake. It was so much fun!\u00a0 While we were out on the lake the neatest thing happened.<\/span><\/p>\n

While we were out on the lake a bald eagle came flying over us, seemingly without a care in the world. Part of me was hoping it would dive down into the water for a meal of fish but it didn\u2019t. It just flew around us, passing us by without so much as a hard flapping of its wings. It just soared over us and we loved it.\u00a0 As I watched what was happening above us, the Lord began to speak to my very needy heart.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He pointed out to me the flight style of that majestic bird. It wasn\u2019t flapping its wings like crazy – it was soaring with ease, lifted up by the wind. For that eagle, his flight was effortless – and that is what the Lord wanted me to see. I needed to stop flapping my wings so hard in my trials, thinking my efforts would be what would carry me through them. Instead, I needed to rest my wings on the power of His might and simply soar on the current of His strength.\u00a0 I came away from that scene with a greater understanding of a certain word in Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As you begin this work week, don\u2019t go into it thinking you have to do all the wing pumping. Lean into the One who knows your need for strength. When you do, you will soar.<\/span><\/p>\n
