Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

I live in a housing development where I have an automatic sprinkler system so I don\u2019t have to think about watering my yard. Late last week I started wondering why the grass in my yard was drier than normal and turning brown in spots, and the other night I realized I hadn\u2019t seen my sprinklers run in well over a week. I had a conversation with a neighbor of mine on Friday afternoon and sure enough, the sprinkler system wasn\u2019t getting water at all. The pump had been shut down for repairs. Thankfully, the sprinkler system was working again that evening and of course, the soaking rain we got yesterday is going to do wonders to help green up my yard again.<\/span><\/p>\n

I had to laugh at the timing of my mini-drought as it coincided perfectly with my own spiritual condition, and the message given by a guest speaker at my church this past weekend. He spoke about what to do when the line of communication between us and God seems blocked. There were the usual tips – waiting at His feet for Him to speak, worshiping Him in the waiting, listening intently for His voice. Ultimately, the speaker shared how you and I have to make sure we are firmly connected to the source of the water. We have to make certain the Lord is truly our first love.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Revelation chapter two, we read how the church in Ephesus was commended by the Lord for their faithfulness, having persevered and endured hardships in the His name. The Lord offered the church just one criticism – they had forsaken their first love. Rekindle that love for God in your day-to-day life and He will open up that supply of living water for you like a fire hose! If you\u2019re feeling distant from Him today, know you don\u2019t have to feel that way at all. God won\u2019t hold back His presence or His goodness from us when we press in to Him.\u00a0 Expect His living water to flow to you in overwhelming, barrier breaking, overflowing ways.<\/span><\/p>\n
