Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

During the building of the Golden Gate Bridge over San Francisco Bay, construction fell badly behind schedule because several workers had accidentally fallen from the scaffolding to their deaths. Engineers on the project couldn\u2019t find a solution to the costly delays and the loss of life that was taking place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, someone came up with an idea – a gigantic net that would be hung underneath the bridge to catch anyone who might fall. In spite of the enormous cost, the engineers opted to try the net. After it was installed, progress on the bridge hardly stopped. In fact, things got back on schedule in no time. Now there were workers who fell into the net later in the project but they were saved, and ultimately, the engineers of the Golden Gate bridge found that all the time lost to the workers’ fear of falling was regained by replacing their fear with faith in the net.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Does that sound familiar to you? It should, because we all have had times where we have fallen only to be caught in the safety net that is the grace of God. Ephesians 2:8 says “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith\u2014and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Grace is a beautiful thing. It forgives sin, wipes away mistakes, negates fear and gives us a safe place to land. I have no fear of falling away from God, because by His grace I am safe.<\/span><\/p>\n
