Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

In all of the times that I have spent on a stage, I never mastered the art of the dance. I have three left feet when it comes to dancing – I am no good at it. But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the art form. I have always marveled at how a dancer can do those fast spins without getting totally messed up, or sick for that matter.\u00a0 There’s a technique for that, and from what I understand, it’s called spotting.<\/p>\n

As a dancer performs a spin, they rotate their body and their head at a different rate of speed. While their body rotates at a constant rate, their head spins faster and stops so the dancer can fix their eyes on a certain fixed point or mark in front of them. It helps the dancer control their balance, prevents dizziness, and helps determine the direction of a traveling turn should the dancer need to cross a distance while performing the spin.<\/p>\n

In our walk with the Lord, it can sometimes feel like we are spinning out of control. We need a fixed point in which we can to focus on in those times and our spot – our place to fix our eyes – has to be on God. The author of Hebrews encourages us to “run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes of Jesus.”\u00a0 When the world is spinning, looking to the Lord always helps.<\/p>\n
