When it comes to actual camping, I have to say no way.\u00a0 My idea of roughing it is staying at a hotel without a pool.\u00a0 But take the other meaning of the phrase &#8220;happy camper&#8221; and then I can say yes, I have been accused of being one &#8211; I have been called a pretty joy-filled person.<\/p>\n<p>I have a confession to make, though.\u00a0 Joy has been hard to find through many seasons in my life.<\/p>\n<p>It would be nice if the Lord would keep life happy and good but that&#8217;s not the way life rolls.\u00a0 The Lord does offer us some promises in those seasons, though. Psalm 16:11 says that in His presence is fullness of joy. Galatians 5 tells us that joy is a fruit of the Spirit. Nehemiah 8:10 contains a promise that to me, is a lifeline. &#8220;Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.&#8221; If you&#8217;re in need of some joy, get in His presence and get ready to be filled with His strength.
