She needed the bandage on her hand re-wrapped, she couldn\u2019t do it by herself, and she needed someone who wasn\u2019t squeamish at the sight of her incision to help her change her dressing. An easy task for me &#8211; I had the same surgery and I\u2019ve seen it all before. I have even shown her the scars from my previous hand surgeries. I\u2019m not afraid to show them off. To me, they are no big deal &#8211; just a reminder of past pain that trained medical professionals have cured for me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I think of scars on someone\u2019s hands, I think of Jesus but I also think of the apostle Thomas.\u00a0 In John chapter 20, he just would not believe that Jesus, his friend and teacher had raised from the dead until he could see the nail marks in his hands.\u00a0 When Jesus appeared to the disciples, He obliged and all of Thomas\u2019 doubts were silenced.
