And I mean really excited because I have been ready for a storm with all the fixings – the thunder, the lightning, the whipping wind, the pouring rain, all of the stuff. You may be thinking, why would I want all of that mess? To be honest, last night I needed to see God’s might at work.

I love a good storm. Rather than doing the sensible thing and seeking shelter, I’m the person who is at the window, or better yet, standing in the yard getting pelted by the rain and hail as the storm passes by. But last night, what I also needed was a place of grace – a place where I could let off some steam by pouring out my emotions, even if it meant yelling in perfect time with the thunder knowing that the God of the storm above me was keeping me in the cleft of the rock.

I didn’t get the thunder I wanted but I got a picture of our mighty God in Psalm 29 last night.
