Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

A friend of mine recently put out a call for something I seem to have a ridiculous abundance of.\u00a0 She needed refrigerator space.\u00a0 When I moved into my home two years ago, I was blessed with a very sizeable refrigerator – one that is much larger than a single person living alone really needs, especially one that doesn\u2019t cook.\u00a0 I told her I was glad to help, and last night I took a few minutes to take out the shelves in my fridge, move the half of a half-gallon of milk, the carton of eggs and the few yogurt cups in there to make room for what she needed to store.<\/span><\/p>\n

When she left, I couldn\u2019t help but think about how easy it was to make room for my friend’s refrigerated goods, but how hard it is at times to make room for the things of God in my day. Things like Bible study, or prayer, or even something as simple as spending time in His presence to fill my spiritual cup. We get so caught up in the distractions of life that we forget we need to make room for the things that really matter. We forget to make room for the Lord.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I took some time last night to converse with the Lord about this and as I did, I meditated upon some great words from the scriptures, such as Psalm 107:3 where it says, \u201c<\/span>for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things,\u201d and Psalm 103:5 where it says, \u201che satisfies your desires with good things.\u201d\u00a0 When we open ourselves up to Him, He will fill us to overflowing with His goodness. Let\u2019s give Him plenty of room.<\/span><\/p>\n
