Morning Devotional<\/span>:<\/p>\n

We are born into a kingdom not of our choosing, where our skin color, hometown, IQ, body type, economic condition, neighborhood, and the era we live in are predetermined. Yet, we often live with the illusion of control, thinking we can make our own choices and carve our own path. From picking our own backpacks and designer clothes as kids to choosing a spouse, deciding on the number of children to have, and finding a career, we act as if we are the ones in charge.<\/span><\/p>\n

But Psalm 24 reminds us of the truth: “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it.” This verse has been used as a mealtime prayer by Jewish people for centuries, and it’s a powerful reminder that everything belongs to God, including us. It’s a perspective that we should carry with us as we go about our daily lives, whether we’re at a shopping mall, looking at the ocean, or watching the news. We are not truly in control; it is God’s kingdom that we are part of. So, let us humbly pray, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Thank you for this world, and everything in it. Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n
