Morning Devotional:<\/span><\/p>\n

I saw it and couldn\u2019t help but wonder about its future.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a glorious day weather-wise yesterday.\u00a0 For an early April day, it may have been summer outside with sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s. I was blessed to have time in the afternoon to spend part of it outside as well, sitting on my front porch taking in the fresh air and warm sun on my face.<\/span><\/p>\n

rI also took in the sights of my front yard post-snowdrifts, including the boulevard maple tree. In it, I saw an empty bird nest I hadn\u2019t noticed before, left over from last year.\u00a0 Other than the first robin of spring I have yet to see a mass arrival of birds so I found myself pondering, was this little nest going to see new tenants this year, or would it be left to fall away, empty and unused?<\/span><\/p>\n

I wished for the former but thought to myself, right now I feel like that little nest – very much empty and in need of something to take up residency.<\/span><\/p>\n

It only took a recall of the promises of God to get that space filled, because when we go to Him with an empty cup He promises to fill us to overflowing. Here\u2019s what took up occupancy in my heart as I enjoyed my time with Him yesterday – a promise and a prayer for us all:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.\u201d (Psalm 16:11)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMay the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.\u201d (Romans 15:13)<\/span><\/p>\n
