Morning Devotional:<\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know what brought it to my mind last night but I was remembering a day when someone dared me to do one of those climbing walls at a local Bible camp.\u00a0 I\u2019m not very athletic, but I\u2019m also not one to turn down a dare, so I stepped into the gear and got in line to do the climb.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When I got to the wall, it was me and two kids. The camp counselors said go, and the kids are up the wall in no time. I get about halfway up and I get stuck. It wasn\u2019t that I couldn\u2019t find the next toe hold or the best hand grip – I was stuck in fear.<\/span><\/p>\n

By this time a crowd had formed at the base of the wall and they were cheering me on.\u00a0 I still couldn\u2019t move – that is, until another girl about 12 years old or so climbed up beside me and offered her help to show me how to make it the rest of the way. She showed me every next move I needed to make and soon, I was at the top of the wall, ready for a speedy zip line ride down to the ground on the other side.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What I needed most in my moment of fear was to know the next move I needed to make, and God was faithful to provide just what I needed. When fear strikes, it\u2019s time to trust in the One who directs our steps, especially when one at a time is what you really need.<\/span><\/p>\n
