A co-worker here at Kinship Radio told me yesterday that she saw two robins in her yard. Surely that’s a sign of spring, right? Well, perhaps it’s not. I found a sobering reminder online last night in an old quote from the Farmer’s Almanac. “Spring will finally arrive after three snows on a robin’s tail.” We may be waiting a little while longer for the warmer weather.

The calendar may say it’s spring, but winter in the Midwest has a tendency to drag on. The discussion prompts the question: Who controls the seasons, and what’s the plan for them anyway?

When it comes to seasons and timing, that’s all on God. He is in control and His timing is supreme. Solomon understood this, writing in Ecclesiastes how there was a season for everything and a time for every purpose under heaven. We can fight that concept or we can embrace it. I am of the latter belief. Every season is one where we have every reason to be taught. Let’s make the most of them, even if they may linger a little longer than we want them to.

– Beth

Burning Question:

What is God’s best joke?

Bible Quiz:

Question: Who did David order Ziba to farm the land for?

Answer: Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 9:9-10)

Storytime: Rice Cooker Pancake

Just one more thing…

Morning Devotional: Do you ever find yourself complaining about the season you’re in?
